Elysian Table
Walnut and walnut plywood
This table was designed to display hand poured candles and crafted objects for Venture World.
It was first displayed in San Francisco during the Renegade Craft Festival,
and has been used at subsequent craft fairs and events.

Design & Fabrication ProcessThe shape of this piece was inspired during a walk in Elysian Park. I saw these bold,
smooth roots poking through the sand that submerged themselves and resurfaced every few feet.
This moment felt like a fitting compliment to the work of VTR World that asked me to create a display table.
VTR World is a creative studio that explores the creative mind and how we find its natural rhythms.
To assemble this piece, I milled scraps of walnut into uniform thickness and mitered them at various angles
to follow the shape of a template I drew in Solidworks and cut on the CNC in plywood.
I stack laminated the mitered parts, and then sculpted using an angle grinder.
